gbc engineers is supporting the renewal of the railway overpass (EÜ) at Mörfelder Landstraße in Frankfurt. The structure crosses Mörfelder Landstraße at km 36.224 of the double-track, electrified line 3650 Frankfurt (Main) Stadion – Frankfurt (Main) Süd, in the Frankfurt Süd district. The new structure is designed as a tied arch bridge with the arch positioned above the deck, spanning 64.20/68.00 m between supports and carrying a double-track deck 10.00 m wide. The clear span between abutments is 62.40 m, with a clear height of at least 4.50 m above the road below. The bridge deck covers approximately 967.64 m².
Our primary focus is on the structural design of the new tied-arch bridge, from the load-bearing arch and deck to the abutments. This includes the detailed structural design (work stages 4-5 / LP4-5) of the superstructure and its bearings, and coordinating the BIM model throughout the design process.
